Most Ottawa wedding decorators do one wedding. We do the whole week — and in the communities we serve, a wedding is almost never a single day.

A Pakistani, Indian, Punjabi or Bangladeshi wedding in Ottawa typically runs three to five events: dholki or mayon, mehndi, nikah, barat and walima. Each one has a different palette, a different mood and a different set of objects. Booking them separately costs more and looks less coherent than booking them as one project, which is how we prefer to work.

What a wedding booking includes

• Stage and backdrop — two-panel, full-width and royal red builds, in ivory, blush, sage, red-and-gold and custom palettes
• Floral installations — garlands, wisteria work, rose and marigold, fresh or artificial
• Couple's seating — sofa, takhat, throne or floor seating with bolsters
• Centrepieces and table styling — floral, candle and floating-candle arrangements
• Chair covers, sashes and linens
• Lighting — fairy light curtains, LED string, floor lanterns and uplighting
• Entry and aisle décor, card box and podium
• Couple's personal pieces — varmala, sehra, dupatta, floral jewellery, bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres
• Delivery, setup and takedown — always included, never subcontracted

The full wedding sequence

We build for each event in the week rather than repeating one look five times. Every ceremony below has its own page, because each is genuinely a different job.

• Mayon — yellow and marigold, the week opens
• Dholki — the singing night, usually at home
• Mehndi — marigold, mirror-work, Rajasthani umbrellas
• Sangeet — a stage built to be performed on
• Jago — decorated pots and a procession
• Nikah — stage, divider curtain, Arsi Mushaf
• Barat — the largest stage and the arrival
• Walima — the reception, the whole room dressed

Budget-friendly, and what that actually means

We say budget-friendly because it is true, not as a discount pitch. What it means in practice is that we will tell you where money changes the photographs and where it does not.

Lighting and a well-built backdrop change every picture taken that night. A larger floral budget spent on details nobody stands close to does not. On a constrained budget we will steer you toward the first and away from the second — and we would rather do that honestly than sell you the biggest quote you will accept.

We set up across the National Capital Region: banquet centres including Sala San Marco on Preston Street (ballroom capacity to 500) and the Infinity Convention Centre near Hunt Club (15,000 sq ft, 23-foot ceilings, capacity around 1,200), masjid and community halls, hotel function rooms, restaurant private rooms, and family homes and backyards across Kanata, Barrhaven, Orléans, Nepean and Gatineau.

Ceiling height is the single most important thing you can tell us about a venue. It changes the build completely, and a stage sized for the wrong room is the most common and most expensive mistake in this business.
